"Residual thought-flows" – transparent two-metre glass flasks, at the ends of which there are inbuilt speakers and devices of bio-inverse connection. Inside the flask there is a sculpture made of polymers "thought-flow".

Two viewers enter into contact with the thought-flow, – taking hold of the metal spokes from both ends of the flask, it is necessary for them to calm their emotional state, having slowed the thought-flow and attained the maximum possible inner silence. In the event of the synchronisation of efforts and the attainment of the required result, the sculpture reacts changing the audio-track. Three rods and three tasks – calming (for one viewer), exciting (for one viewer), calming (for two viewers).

Because the devices are used in the objects the level of emotional activation of the person, who comes into contact with the interactive sculpture, is measured in real time. The method applied in the project is called the registering of SGR (skin-galvanic reaction). At the heart of the method lies the phenomenon of the strong correlative connection between the change of electric conductivity (resistance) of an organism’s biological tissue and the level of emotional activation.

One must touch metal spokes by two hands. One has to calm you emotional state, having slowed the thought-flow and try to do the maximum possible inner silence. The more loudly the sound - the more close one to a result.
The device is used in the objects is measuring in real time the level of emotional activation of the person, who comes into contact with the interactive sculpture.
When melody will exchange - one has entered into the full contact with the object.

The interactive object "Residual thought-flows 5" is one from the series installations «Model of Consciousness». The main creative task of this work is an attempt to materialize the mechanisms of the human consciousness, our psycho-physiological processes and brain activity. Biofeedback device in real time reads off data and reacts to the bio-activity of one’s brain - it detects alpha, beta and gamma waves. The electric activity of the brain has a compound character. The unique sound pattern (equalizer data) constantly changes.

One should fix the device by pressing the sensor to the forehead skin. A specially written computer program chooses one of many sounds depending on the reading of the device. This way the object reacts to the spectator’s brain bio-activity. In other words, the sound coming out of the object depends on the thoughts and emotions of the spectator. At present five main brain activity frequency ranges are distinguished:
       - alpha range (8Hz - 13Hz) - relaxation;
       - beta range (13Hz - 45Hz) - active functioning;
       - gamma range (45Hz - 60Hz) - altered states of consciousness;
       - theta range (4Hz - 8Hz) - half-sleep;
       - delta range (0.5Hz - 4Hz) - deep sleep.
